Materials and quality
What are Vanny Jewels pieces made of?
Most of our jewelry is 925 sterling silver. Gold-tone pieces are real 18k gold plating over 925 sterling silver or over brass, and a few styles are made from waterproof surgical grade 316L stainless steel with 18k gold plating. The exact materials for each piece are listed on its product page, and you can read more about our materials here.
Is the silver real silver?
Yes. Where a product says 925 sterling silver, that is 92.5% silver, which is the standard used for fine silver jewelry worldwide. Sterling silver is not the same as silver plating, and it does not wear off.
Will gold-plated jewelry lose its colour?
Gold plating is a layer of real gold over another metal, so it will wear more slowly the better it is looked after. Perfume, hairspray, chlorine and hand sanitiser are what strip plating fastest. Put jewelry on last when you get dressed and take it off first at night, and it will keep its colour far longer. Pieces made from 316L stainless steel are waterproof and can be worn in the shower and the sea.
Is your jewelry hypoallergenic?
Sterling silver and 316L surgical steel are both good choices for sensitive skin, and none of our pieces use nickel in the base metal. If you react to almost everything, our stainless steel styles are the safest starting point.
Charms
Will your charms fit a bracelet I already own?
Almost certainly. Our charms use a hinged clasp that opens by hand, so you can clip them straight onto a chain without tools and without taking anything to a jeweller. The clasp opening is roughly 6mm x 2.5mm, which suits round chains up to about 2mm thick and flat herringbone chains up to about 5mm. If your chain is thicker than that, the charm will not close around it.
Do charms come with a bracelet or chain?
No. Charms are sold on their own so you can build a stack at your own pace. Every charm product page says clearly whether a chain is included.
How many charms fit on one bracelet?
It depends on the bracelet length and the size of the charms, but most people wear between three and seven on a standard bracelet. Leave a little room so the charms can move, otherwise they sit stiffly and stop catching the light.

Shipping
How much is shipping?
Express shipping is free, worldwide, on every order. There is no minimum.
How long until my order ships?
Orders leave our warehouse within one to two business days. Personalised and engraved pieces are made to order, so they take a little longer to prepare before they ship.
Do you ship to my country?
We ship worldwide. If your country appears at checkout, we deliver there.
Personalisation
Can I have a piece engraved?
Many of our rings, cuffs, bars and name pieces are engraved or made to order with the name, initial, date or birthstone you choose. Where personalisation is available, the options appear on the product page before you add to cart.
Can personalised items be returned?
Personalised pieces are made specifically for you, so we can only accept a return if the item arrives faulty or the engraving does not match what you ordered. Please check your spelling carefully before you place the order.
Returns
What is your return window?
You have 14 days from delivery to request a return. Items need to come back unworn and in their original packaging.
How do I start a return?
Contact us with your order number and we will send you instructions.
Gifting and care
Does the order arrive gift ready?
Every order is packaged so it can be handed over as it is. If you need extra pouches or boxes because one order is going to several people, you can add them to your cart.
How should I clean my jewelry?
Wipe pieces with a soft dry cloth after wearing them. For sterling silver that has darkened, a silver polishing cloth brings it back. Avoid liquid silver dips on plated pieces and on anything set with pearls, opals or enamel, because they strip the finish and dull the stones.
How should I store it?
Separately, dry, and out of direct sunlight. Silver tarnishes faster in humid air, so a small closed box or pouch does more good than an open dish.
